The 10th annual TWFG Muddy Trails Bash is this Saturday! From registration to traffic,  here’s what you should know before the weekend…

muddytrails_cobrandlogo_group_cmykTWFG Muddy Trails Bash courses will wind through the beautiful George Mitchell Nature Preserve, located on 1,800 acres adjacent to Rob Fleming Park in the Village of Creekside Park.

The post race party will feature the Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-Off, live Zydeco music and children’s activities. Reminder: TWFG Muddy Trails Bash is not a mud run or adventure run.

There are a few spaces still available for the 10th annual TWFG Muddy Trails Bash this Saturday! The USA Track and Field (USATF) sanctioned event features four family-friendly races including:

  • Chip-Timed 10K Trail Run (Recommended ages 10 and older)
  • Chip-Timed 5K Trail Run (Recommended ages 10 and older)
  • Little Muddy Kids’ One-Mile Fun Run (Recommended ages 5 and older)
  • 2K-9 One-Mile Dog Fun Run

All races are capped and race day registration will not be available if the event sells out. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register online today.

The Woodlands Township advises residents of the following road closures in the Creekside Forest Drive area on race day. Creekside Green is recommended for accessing and moving within the Village of Creekside Park.

  • Creekside Forest Drive, Roundabout to Great Heron Drive: Closed 10am-9pm
  • Creekside Forest Drive, Great Heron to Lake Paloma Trail: Closed 2-7pm

Community members are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternate routes on race day to ensure runner and spectator safety. Complete information on this event, including estimated lane openings and route maps, can be found on the race website.

Spectator parking will be at WoodsEdge Community Church, with free round-trip shuttle bus service to the TWFG Muddy Trails Bash! Buses run approximately every 15 minutes. First bus leaves WoodsEdge Community Church at 1:00 p.m., last bus leaves Rob Fleming Park at 8:30 p.m. Animals cannot ride the bus, and parking along the roadside is prohibited.
