The Woodlands Township’s Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of events for families to enjoy together during the festive holiday season!

Families can choose from a variety of activities to find just the right fit for a busy family schedule. Holiday events sold out early in 2015, so plan ahead and pre-register! If an event is full be sure to sign up for the waiting list, additional holiday events may be added later.

2016 Holiday Activities:

Friday, December 16th:

Deck the Halls – Christmas Tree Creations (Friday, Dec. 16 at 6pm) – Gather the family at the Recreation Center for a festive afternoon of making ornaments and decorating a take-home four-foot tree! All ages are invited. Fee: $60 Resident per tree, $70 Non-Resident per tree

Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt (Friday, Dec. 16 at 6pm) – Be sure to bring a flashlight for this great holiday hunt at The Lodge at Rob Fleming Park! Enjoy canes, hot cocoa and special presents from Santa. Fee: $10 Resident , $15 Non-Resident; $5 Sibling Discount

Saturday, December 17th:

Feliz Navi-Dog  (Saturday, Dec. 17 at 10am) – Bring out your furbabies to Bear Branch Dog Park for a treat hunt and holiday costume contest!  Enjoy hot cocoa while your pets socialize, then decorate a stocking for your pooch. Fee: $5 per dog

Gingerbread House Making (Saturday, Dec. 17 at Noon) – Build and decorate a gingerbread house with gum drops, peppermints, frosting and more. Requires parent participation; Ages 5-12. Fee: $20 Resident, $25 Non-Resident; $5 Sibling Discount

Santa’s Workshop (Saturday, Dec. 17 at 3pm) – Build small toys and crafts with the elves for the holidays!  Enjoy cookies, music and hot cocoa by the fireplace.  Perfect place for the kiddos to make family member presents.  Wrapping supplies available.  Santa will be there for photos! Ages 5-12. Fee: $20 Resident , $25 Non-Resident; $5 Sibling Discount

Movie in the Park: The Grinch  (Saturday, Dec. 17 at 6pm) – Pull out your blankets and lawn chairs for a showing of Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”  Take photos with Santa and create your own specialty popcorn for  the movie.  Fee: $8 per person

Sunday, December 18th:

Breakfast with Santa (Sunday, Dec. 18 at 9 a.m.) – Includes a continental breakfast, music, a family craft and Santa Claus makes a special visit! Be sure to bring your camera! Discounts available for families of two and three. Fee: $40 Resident family of four, $45 Non-Resident Family of Four; $8 each additional family member

Sweaters and Sandwiches with Santa (Sunday, Dec. 18 at Noon) – Enjoy lunch, music, family craft and of course a visit from Santa Claus! Wear your best ugly holiday sweater to enter the ugly sweater contest! Be sure to bring your camera! Fee: $40 Resident family of four, $45 Non-Resident Family of Four; $8 each additional family member

North Pole Bakery (Sunday, Dec. 18 at 3 p.m.) – Decorate cookies and other treats at the North Pole! Pastry chefs get to decorate a holiday apron and take pictures with Santa; Ages 3-12. Fee: $20 Resident, $25 Non-Resident; $5 sibling discount

Thursday, December 22nd:
