Does someone you know need a summer job? Have you considered working nearby – at your nearest community swimming pool?
The Aquatics Division of The Woodlands Township’s Parks and Recreation Department is in full swing hiring and training for positions at our 14 Township swimming pools, including over 330 lifeguards and close to 50 aquatic programs staff such as swim coaches and swim instructors.
We are also excited to announce new, higher hourly wages for all seasonal Parks and Recreation staff in 2016 including:
- Pool Pass Aides starting at $8.00/hr
- Lifeguards starting at $9.25/hr
- Swim Coaches starting at $9.50/hr
- Rob Fleming Aquatic Center Lifeguards starting at $9.75/hr
- Swim Instructors starting at $11.50/hr
All positions are eligible for an additional $0.50/hr for each additional year of experience. The Township subsidizes all training and uniforms for seasonal Aquatics employees, so there’s no cheaper or easier way to become a lifeguard or swim instructor in the Houston area.
Benefits of working for the Township’s Aquatics Division include:
- Stay close to home!
- Flexible hours!
- Be outside!
- Stay in shape!
- Be a part of a team!
- Travel to lifeguard competitions or swim meets!
- Learn life-saving skills that you’ll keep with you forever!
And chances are good you already know some of us! Since almost all of our staff are residents of The Woodlands, you’ve probably got a lifeguard living down the street or a swim instructor on the next block over.
Applications can be found on the Township’s Employment Opportunities webpage. We hope you’ll consider being a part of our team in 2016!
