Dance classes are a great way to start your new year the right way. Get into the swing of things with our Beginner Swing/Jitterbug class.
Brenda Seneca will be teaching this six-week, beginner dance course where you learn the basic steps and patterns of East Coast Swing, when to lead and when to follow. After this class you’ll be able to get out on the dance floor at weddings, parties, and banquets. Don’t sit out and watch!
Houston has a large swing dancing culture, and the best way to be a part of it is to get started right here at home. Take the first step! Partners are encouraged but not required.
All dance programs offer both beginner and intermediate classes for residents ages 16 and up. Note: Partners are encouraged, but not required.
When: Beginner classes start January 19th!
Times: Tuesdays at various times (dependent on dance style chosen)

Country Western Dancing: Learn to glide across the floor to the popular Texas two-step.
Ballroom Dancing: Partners will lean to lead and follow and will be introduced to widely used dances in both smooth and Latin style, such as the Foxtrot, Waltz and Cha-Cha.
Swing/Jitterbug: Enjoy this fun introduction to the basic steps and patterns of East Coast Swing; learn leading and following skills as well.
Whether you want to get ready for the first dance at your wedding or you just don’t want to sit through your favorite songs anymore, The Woodlands Township Recreation Center offers a variety of dance classes just for adults to get you moving and grooving!
