Get outside and enjoy some of our Outdoor Programs through The Woodlands Township Parks and Rec! You may find yourself in a survival situation at any time. A weekend hike, planting trees in a remote area, or even a casual walk in the woods. Would you have the mindset and skills needed to survive?
This learn-by-doing class teaches the survival mind set, conventional and alternative fire methods, signaling, water collection, basic snare construction, protection from the elements, and related survival skills. Wear comfortable clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, and get ready for some outdoor fun! All equipment will be provided. No experience required.
Ages: 14 and up; 11 and older if participating with a parent

This 16-hour course is perfect for those involved in activities that take them beyond the boundaries of traditional urban emergency medical services, like hikers and backpackers. This course meets the requirements for training in back country emergency response and is approved by the American Camping Association and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. Two-year certification issued upon successful completion. No experience required.
